- Bradford City Centre Gift Card has topped £210k in sales
Bradford BID is celebrating a major milestone as its Bradford City Centre Gift Card has officially surpassed £200,000 in sales, marking a huge success for the local economy and the hundreds of city centre businesses it supports. Launched by Bradford Business Improvement District (BID) at the end of 2022 to encourage residents and visitors to spend locally, the gift card can be redeemed at more than 120 shops, restaurants, bars, and attractions across the city centre. Every pound loaded onto the card represents money kept within Bradford – helping to sustain jobs, boost trade, and strengthen the local economy. With the festive season fast approaching, the Bradford City Centre Gift Card is proving more popular than ever as a perfect Christmas present that gives recipients the freedom to choose while supporting local businesses. “Smashing £210,000 worth of sales is a fantastic achievement for Bradford,” said Nikki Chadburn, Business Communications Manager at Bradford BID. “Every card purchased is a direct investment in our city centre, helping our brilliant local traders thrive. It’s especially heartening to see more people choosing local gifting this Christmas, it’s a win-win for shoppers and businesses alike.” In addition to individual purchases, corporate sales have also seen a strong surge. Many local employers are now choosing to reward their teams with the Bradford City Centre Gift Card, recognising it as a meaningful way to show appreciation while supporting the city’s retail and hospitality sectors. “Businesses are increasingly realising that the gift card isn’t just a great reward for staff, it’s also a way to give back to the community,” added Chadburn. “Every card given helps keep money circulating locally, strengthening Bradford’s economy from within.” The Bradford City Centre Gift Card can be purchased online at www.bradfordgiftcard.com or in person from The Broadway Hub, and can be used in participating venues city-wide, from popular high-street names to much-loved independent traders. As Christmas approaches, Bradford BID is encouraging residents, visitors, and businesses to join the growing movement of shopping local and give the gift of Bradford.
