Bradford Gift Card scheme hits major £250k milestone

The Bradford Gift Card, launched in late 2021, has now generated more than £250,000 in sales, supporting businesses across the city centre.

The card can be used at a wide range of venues, including the Alhambra Theatre, St George’s Hall, and national retailers.

Jonny Noble, chief executive at Bradford Business Improvement District (BID), said: "The Bradford Gift Card was always about supporting local businesses and keeping as much spend as possible within the city centre. The economy has faced huge challenges since we launched, so we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the scheme over the last four and a half years to help us reach this milestone."

The scheme has recently expanded to include Darley Street Kitchen, bringing 13 additional food and drink vendors on board.

Colin Munro, CEO at Miconex, said: "It’s fantastic to see the initiative reach £250,000 in cards sold, with over 120 businesses benefitting."

A council spokesperson said: "Every time someone chooses the Bradford Gift Card, they are directly supporting local jobs and businesses."
