Bradford BID Celebrates Sell-Out Success of First ‘Paint and Sip’ Event

Bradford BID is celebrating the success of its first-ever Paint and Sip evening, which sold out and welcomed a full house at Wallers Brewery on Friday night. The unique event drew in people from across the district, including many who admitted they hadn’t ventured into the city centre for months.

The evening combined creativity with social connection. Guests enjoyed drinks before a professional artist guided them step by step through creating their own painted masterpiece – a striking highland cow. The relaxed, informal atmosphere encouraged both budding and experienced painters to have fun, unwind, and take home a piece of art they could be proud of.

Jonny Noble, Chief Executive of Bradford BID, said: “We wanted to bring something new, fun, and engaging to Bradford’s city centre nightlife. The Paint and Sip evening was a perfect way to showcase the range of venues we have here, including the incredibly unique Sunbridge Wells, while giving people the chance to try something creative and sociable. Seeing a sell-out crowd enjoying themselves, many of whom hadn’t been into the city for a while, shows the real potential for Bradford to offer something for everyone after dark.”

One delighted attendee, Amanda Palmer, added: “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was such a brilliant night. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I’ve not been into the centre for a night out in quite a while, but I’ll definitely be coming back for more evenings like this.”

Following the success of this first event, Bradford BID is planning more Paint and Sip sessions alongside other creative and social activities to continue showcasing the city’s growing evening economy. The BID launched the Bradford’s Everyone’s Night campaign over the summer, sharing some of the fun things to do as families after 5pm, which follows the city being awarded the prestigious Purple Flag status for it’s nighttime offering.
